# Base Software

Is this a custom forum? or are you using a third party for this forum; if so who are they ? I love it and would like to use it for my work.

It is [Discourse](http://www.discourse.org/). I got it hosted [for free because we are an open source community](https://blog.discourse.org/2016/03/free-discourse-forum-hosting-for-community-friendly-github-projects/). @eviltrout and [Jeff Atwood](https://blog.codinghorror.com/civilized-discourse-construction-kit/) have been very good to us. 🙂 They have [fixed a bunch of issues and bugs for me](https://meta.discourse.org/users/rhyolight/activity/replies), and keep our forum running pretty smoothly.
