Can anyone please let me know if the HTM prediction model follows the ARIMA prediction model?
If not, how are they different?

@subutai did a study a long time ago when we called it “CLA”. See here:

They are completely different. A description of HTM (with a short ARIMA comparison) is here:

> **[Continuous Online Sequence Learning with an Unsupervised Neural Network Model](http://www.mitpressjournals.org/doi/abs/10.1162/NECO_a_00893)**

> The ability to recognize and predict temporal sequences of sensory inputs is vital for survival in natural environments. Based on many known properties of cortical neurons, hierarchical temporal memory (HTM) sequence memory recently has been proposed...

A paper directly comparing the two on a bunch of datasets is here (I don’t know the author):

Can you please elaborate in what sense they are completely different?
I am still in learning phase so all these will be really helpful. Thank you.

Well one is completely biologically derived. The other is basically just a math function. I think you’ll need to investigate yourself about what ARIMA is. Share your comparison with us afterwards if you come up with anything interesting?
