I’m working on a presentation for ML beginners, introducing HTM to them. Are there things HTM can do that is not anomaly detection?

Sequence learning; the anomaly detection portion signals that the transition is not part of a learned sequence. An example of this is the Geospatial Tracking application.
The cortical IO product is a solid win for the SDR part of HTM.
