can you tell me why segment per cell is 128? A cell has full connections with other cell, so my thinking is a cell has 2048x32 segments.

There is a difference between the creation of a segment, a segment growing synapses, and the synapse permanence increasing. I don’ know the exact answer to your question, but @mrcslws or @scott probably will.

You’re right it is 0.5 (not sure where I got 0.2). So yes the system would have to see the pattern three times, to raise the permanence values from 0.21 to 0.51.
