Yes, and I believe that act effectively “protects” the established connections from being modified (i.e. prevents links from former predictions to new inputs which effectively does what @garry.morrison asked which is to start learning a new input without it being connected to previous sequences)? Bursting will occur and there will be no link from the end of the previous sequence connecting it to the start of the current sequence?
