Semantic Folding for Twitter Hashtag Recommendation

Hi .
being inspired by Semantic Folding theory,i decided to use it for hashtag recommendation in Twitter.
my question is ;
Is it make sense to build the semantic space entirely from twitter sample data and use hashtags for semantic blocks? in other words, making a tag space for generating tweet fingerprints is a good idea ?
