HTM evidence with clustering of synaptic boutons

Great new paper below that shows convergence of synaptic boutons from retinal ganglion cells onto thalamus based on visual feature selectivity which made me think of HTM. This is not part of the neocortex of course but still great to see such architectures preserved throughout the brain.

Thanks - this looks really interesting! I’ve been looking into some of these thalamic convergence details lately - I had not seen this paper.
