How are predictions sent down the hierarchy? Be it in HTM or DNN or brains.

The “three visual streams” paper details how the thalamus (pulvinar for the visual system) carries out a predictive feedback system.
The paper is based on the DeepLeabra model and is worth a good look; it does not do a very good job explaining DeepLeabra but there are good papers on this with a little googling.
