Remembering Matt

Thinking of Matt today, on the one year anniversary of his passing. At our team meeting yesterday, several of us wore tie-dyed, NuPIC, or brightly colored shirts to remember him. We spent time sharing stories and our favorite memories and stories of him. It’s still hard to believe he’s gone and hard to believe that a whole year has passed.

Thank you to @Bitking and @Paul_Lamb for your help over the past year with the community.

And thank you to Matt for being an incredible co-worker, community leader, friend, role model… not to mention the roles he prized most dearly: father and husband. You made us all better, and your impact will be felt for years to come.

One of my favorite memories about Matt was when during his streams he sometimes played some tunes on his guitar.

“What a fantastic job you have, Matt,” I teased him once, “You are paid to play the guitar on the internet”.
“No,” he replied, “I am paid to stream about Numenta’s work, and I’m allowed to take the occasional break”.
