Hi everyone! Here’s a sneak peek of Jeff’s new book, A Thousand Brains, which releases on March 2. In this 4-part video series, Jeff talks to @cmaver about his motivations behind the book, what readers can expect and what each of the book’s three sections cover.
In this introduction video, Jeff offers a preview of what readers can expect, why he wrote the book, and what each of the book’s three sections cover.
Part One of the book unpacks the primary principles behind the Thousand Brains Theory of Intelligence. Jeff talks about how this powerful new framework lets us look at some of neuroscience’s problems with a new lens.
In Part Two of Jeff’s new book, he discusses how the theory can impact the future of AI. He looks at why today’s AI is not intelligent, whether machines can be conscious, and the existential risks of machine intelligence.
In Part Three, Jeff examines how human intelligence is not only the source of our success but also may be our greatest threat. Through the lens of intelligence and brain theory, he proposes different ways we can reduce the risks we face as a species.
