How this site uses "trust levels"

When new people join, they start with a minimal set of capabilities, but simply by reading and contributing they gain more quickly. See this post about “trust levels” in Discourse, including how they are achieved and what powers are granted.

OK, so Matt. My first attempt to post a new topic here from email just got bounced because I don’t have a sufficient “trust level”.

I just updated the settings. You should be able to post a new topic via email now.

It doesn’t work… @cogmission is a troll and is here…

I hope I’m more trustworthy than a dollar bill.

Seriously though. I hope Matt can make it as easy as possible for new
members to post. I don’t know what filters there were in NuPIC-theory, but
spam was rarely a problem, and the community should be in grow-grow mode.
