Sunsetting numenta.org website

Hello HTM Community,

I want to let you all know that we are planning to shut down the Numenta.org site on June 1, 2021, and redirect it to Numenta.com. The sunsetting of numenta.org will NOT impact this forum. In fact, one of the main reasons why we’ve decided to shut down numenta.org is because the HTM Forum has become the go-to resource for the community.

We’ve made sure that we won’t lose any important content that was housed on Numenta.org. Much of the HTM Community content was already on Numenta.com, and if it wasn’t, we added it. So you’ll still be able to find HTM School, licensing (including the Contributor License), HTM implementations, translations of our documentation, and links to the Github repositories.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me directly or here on the Forum.

Hi Christy, Thanks to you and the team for this information and new arrangement. Does this mean, that we will find this Forum (HTM Forum) on numenta.com beginning on June 1st? So the new go-to resource is in the .com domain, correct?

1- That is mean that we won t be able to interact anymore? i meant posting queries and get guidance from peers.

2- Will all the topics that have been discussed here will also be lost?

The edit and search features on discourse are good enough. I hope the new forum offers the same tool set. Or equivalent.

Good question! Our plan is to keep the discourse on .org and not move it to numenta.com. Basically, we don’t want the Community user experience to change at all. If we have to set up redirects, we will, but the Forum will continue as it is.

Hi @Tresor ,

This Community Forum will not change and this forum will not be affected. You’ll still be able to interact, post, etc, And we are not deleting any topics - nothing will be lost. The only thing that is changing is that numenta.org (which is separate from this Community discourse forum) will point to numenta.com

Hope that makes sense, but please let me know if you have other questions.

No new forum and no plans for a new forum right now. We’ll continue with this one as is, and only sunset the numenta,.org site, which is already largely duplicative of what’s on numenta.com and few people are using.

Hi Mark, I downloaded all my activity as you indicated above. Are we supposed to upload any of that anywhere? Or is that just for our reference?

I hope I will be able to find you and others on the .com side. I have checked it out and it looks great, but I am not familiar with the site. Perhaps we should find some kind of a guide for HTM Forum members. Or get some sort of guided tour, regarding interacting features. Thanks and Cheers! Joe

Hi @BrainConstellation ,

Don’t worry, we have no plans to move or change the Forum. @CollinsEM is right. This Forum will remain here at discourse.numenta.org and we’re not changing anything. The change I mentioned only has to do with numenta.org, which is a separate, legacy website Numenta was hosting.
