Graphene layers and Hexagonal Grids

Graphene is a 2D lattice of carbon molecules arranged into a hexagonal grid. Recent studies are showing some interesting properties.

If you take two sheets of Graphene, rotate one of them by 1.1 degrees, and lay them on top of each other, the result exhibits signs of superconductivity and other curious features. If you look at the pictures in the article, you’ll see some familiar sights:

Jeff showed me these two metal sheets etched out into an isometric lattice, and when layered and displaced they create the coolest visual dynamics, just like this article is talking about. I’ll try to remember to take a pic from the office next week.
